It's been over TWO years since I updated this blog. Oy, how time flies.
If this were fifty years ago, I'd now be considered a "senior citizen", having just passed that landmark birthday #50.
Funny, I don't feel "old". I don't think I act "old" and I certainly don't look "old". I'm just as weird, just as stubborn and just as prone to impetuosity as I was at sixteen. I just have a better vocabulary. LOL!
I see a lot of people each day, most of them strangers I've never met and will probably never see again. And with each one, I'm amazed at how time has affected them. Some I'd swear were old enough to be my parent, yet, their driver's license reveals them to be a dozen years my junior.
And of course, there are always the ones who you'd swear were youngsters and they're actually older, MUCH older than Yours Truly here.
How does it happen?
It's thoughts like that that keep me awake at night, pondering the mysteries of the universe. And I've put together a sort of Rogue's Gallery of celebrities who have either gotten sucked into the wrong end of the time machine, or who've managed to find the Fountain of Youth (and been too stingy to share). Here are just a few samples.

Mick Jagger, well...we know he has a very much grown up daughter and he didn't even start out as a young dad. Hmm...

I have a girlfriend who is actually older than I am, but looks younger. She claims it's her faithful use of moisturizer. I think it's that and genetics.
Cinthia, I am grateful to Debbie for leading me to your blog! I just turned 50, as well, and I can relate to your feeling like a teenager on the inside, although every day I see a new wrinkle or sprout another gray hair! Mostly, I think age is an attitude. If I don't make a big deal out of how old I am, no one really seems to care. As a matter of fact, I have decided I am never, ever going to reveal my age to a stranger. I am just going to be my wild, crazy, imperfect self, and keep 'em guessing!

I don't trust how celebrities look. But my mom look great and she doesn't want me say her age. Needless to say on a recent vacation she was comfortably (and cutely) wearing a swimsuit while I was covered head to toe like it was winter. She loves eating healthy and exercising. Its in the genes, but she also works at staying young. As soon as I retire 40 years from now I'm going to do the same thing!

Pam, Welcome, welcome! :-) Attitude sure has a lot to do with it. I don't mind revealing my age simply b/c I love the drop-jaw effect it creates. LOL!
Debbie, moisturizer is KEY. I don't care if you live in a swamp, you still need to take care of that skin--from the inside out. Have you ever seen these people who smoke like chimneys and proudly state they NEVER drink water?? They look like those dried apple dolls you see at county fairs. LOL!
Nicki, it's that genetic thing...your mom has 'em and I'm betting you do, too. You'll still be fab fifty years from now.
Liz, yes, I'm glad I'm blogging again, too. Stress levels have eased up considerably now that we have no wedding drama, no pregnancy drama and I have my supervisors at work sufficiently afraid of me. LOL!
